Thoracic and Vascular Surgery

Thoracic Procedures

Surgeries in the chest region include removal and repair of the lungs and trachea. ACTV surgeons also work with orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons to provide access through the chest for repair of the spinal column.

Vascular Procedures

Vascular surgery seeks to restore normal or increased blood flow in areas other than the heart, such as the neck and legs. The most common vascular procedures include endarterectomy, which is used to increase blood flow through the carotid artery, and peripheral vascular procedures such as femoral artery bypass and repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
